A new school was opened in 1914 in Boleyboy. This school continued to operate until it was closed in June 1992 due to the poor condition of the building. A new school, with all modern facilities, was built in Listernan and opened in September 1992. The old building was demolished in 1993.

The school currently has two mainstream classrooms, a learning support classroom, a library and care room. It currently facilities three teachers, two mainstream class teachers, Ms. Claire Gallagher (principal) and Ms. Áine Gibbons (assistant) and a Special Education Teacher Ms. Catherine McHale. An extension to the school was completed in 2015. The school boasts a large play area.
